What Is The Quaich?

The Quaich is a bi-annual golf competition played between friends from the USA and Scotland. This semi-serious Ryder Cup style competition is played every two years alternately in locations in the U.S. and Scotland. The 2012 Quaich matches will be played in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The Origin of the Nicknames

Graeme "H" Wilson - “I dinna know if ya noticed,” he will tell you when asked about his nickname, “but I’ve a ratha large Heid.”

Bret "Fabric" Baier - named for the yards of material used to make the billowy linen shorts that he wears to cover his substantial backside.

Eric "Swayze" Silagy - named for his remarkable resemblance to the actor Patrick Swayze (circa 1987 - Dirty Dancing). "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!"

Nick "Nae Luck" Dawson - he achieved his nickname after an incredible series of misfortunes including picking up a girl in a Glasgow pub and being invited back to her flat, only to see her be run down by a cab on the street outside.

James "Sheets" Moreland - his nickname stems from his remarkable capacity for sleep. The man is a champion napper and man of leisure.
